Will there be a Season 6 of ‘The Bear’?
Nicole Gallucci · 2026-06-27 · via New York Post

Published June 26, 2026, 3:00 p.m. ET

On June 25, The Bear dropped its highly-anticipated Season 5 on Hulu. And when the end credits roll on the fresh batch of episodes, fans of FX’s Emmy-winning comedy will still have lingering questions and long to spend more time with their favorite fictional chefs.

So is this the end of The Bear‘s story? Or will there be a Season 6 of The Bear down the line?

The latest eight-episode season picked up the day after Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) told Sydney (Ayo Edeberi), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bacharach), and Sugar (Abby Elliott) he planned to quit the restaurant in Season 4’s emotionally excruciating finale. With no time left in their deal with Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt) and “The Computer” (Brian Koppelman), limited food, and depleted finances, the chefs came together to carry out a final service in hopes of earning a miracle Michelin star. No spoilers, but when the end credits roll on The Bear Season 5, fans will know whether or not The Bear stays open and if Carmy really leaves the chef life behind.

So how many episodes of The Bear Season 5 are there? Will there be a Season 6 of The Bear? Or is The Bear Season 5 the last season? Here’s what to know.

How Many Episodes Of The Bear Season 5 Are There?

While The Bear Season 2 through Season 4 consisted of 10 episodes, like The Bear‘s debut season, Season 5 will feature eight episodes.

Is There An Episode 9 Of The Bear Season 5?

Not to our knowledge! We know shorter seasons aren’t ideal, but per FX and Hulu, The Bear Season 5 only consists of eight episodes — not nine, not 10. So The Bear Season 5, Episode 8 is the finale.

The Bear Season 5 Ending Explained:

Looking for a detailed recap of The Bear‘s Season 5 finale? Decider’s got you covered. But the main takeaways are that The Bear lives on after Sydney received not one, but two!!!! Michelin stars. When we last saw Richie he was headed to an important conference in Japan with his gal Jess! And Carmy followed through with plans to leave the chef life behind. His next career move? Interning at an architectural firm! Here’s what else you missed!

Will There Be A Season 6 Of The Bear? Or Is This The Last Season Of The Bear?

Back in May, one day after the surprise Gary flashback episode drop, FX confirmed that The Bear‘s fifth season would be its last. The announcement didn’t include quotes or go into detail about the decision, so we’ll likely learn more about the show’s Season 5 end in post-mortem interviews.

We know there’s no The Bear Season 6 in the pipeline, but in Decider’s interview with Abby Elliott she said she “would love to” reunite with the cast again down the line, be it a reunion project, reboot, movie, or another opportunity. So maybe there’s hope!

How To Watch The Bear Online: Hulu Streaming Info

While there are no new episodes of The Bear in the pipeline, the series will live on in our hearts — and Hulu rewatches.

If you’re new to Hulu, the basic (with ads) price is $10.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.
