Donovan McNabb won’t be the only person in his family to play football at the college level.

Donovan McNabb Jr., a wide receiver and the son of the six-time Pro Bowl quarterback, committed to UNLV on Friday night, choosing the Rebels over other Power Four schools like Syracuse, his father’s alma mater, according to multiple reports.

McNabb Jr., is a three-star recruit in the class of 2027, and 247Sports ranks him as the 107th-best receiver nationally and No. 18 prospect in his home state of Arizona.

He had 280 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 23 catches for his high school Brophy College Prep in 2025 while playing on a talent-rich roster that included Devin Fitzgerald, the son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald.

The receiver is set to join a Dan Mullen-led program that’s coming off a 10-2 season and Mountain West Championship game appearance in 2025.

Through just a year with Mullen, the Rebels have taken major strides on the recruiting trail and hold the top-ranked 2027 class in the Mountain West.

According to 247Sports, UNLV’s 2027 group is also the third-best among non-Power Four schools.

McNabb Jr.’s UNLV commitment brings a major connection to his father’s past, as Mullen worked as a graduate assistant under former Syracuse head coach Paul Pasqualoni in 1998, the final year of his college career.

That season, McNabb was a Heisman Trophy finalist and guided Syracuse to an 8-4 record before being drafted No. 2 overall by the Eagles in the 1999 NFL Draft.

McNabb became a franchise cornerstone for the Eagles, leading the team to four consecutive NFC title games and a Super Bowl appearance in 2005.

He then joined Washington and the Vikings to close his career before retiring as an Eagle in 2013.

But it’s now his son’s turn, and he will join the Rebels following his senior season at Brophy College Prep.
