Kelly Ripa let Live with Kelly and Mark viewers in on an “embarrassing” encounter at airport security on Thursday’s episode.

After discussing TSA’s “strange reasoning for permitting rotisserie chickens in a carry-on luggage,” Ripa was reminded of the time she had her perfume “swiped away” from her at airport security.

“Because it was like 3.5 ounces,” she recalled. “And I remember trying to spray a bunch on myself to get it down to 2.7.”

Mark Consuelos said, “It doesn’t matter.”

Ripa continued, “I was like, ‘No! No, no, no! This is expensive! I can’t believe it!'”

While Consuelos reiterated that “it doesn’t matter,” Ripa frustratedly replied that she “understand[s] that now.” However, a travel story for the co-host couple that took the cake took place one time when they were flying home from London.

“There’s one airline, I can’t remember what airline we were flying on. You had to put everything that was considered a liquid—and that is all makeup, including powdered blush, that’s considered a liquid, toothpaste obviously, deodorant—in a see-through plastic bag separately,” she explained.

Ripa admitted that the requirement proved to be “very embarrassing.”

“Some of my liquids are embarrassing,” she teased. “I don’t necessarily want everyone to know what I’m carrying on, but here it is, in a see-through plastic bag.”

Live EP Michael Gelman quipped from off-camera, “For everyone to judge.”

Ripa echoed, “Yeah, for everyone to judge. And you know they are judging, because I was judging them.”
