A famous record producer and nephew of Marilyn Monroe is suing Eagles’ legend Don Felder for allegedly cheating him out of producer credits on two albums.

Robin DiMaggio, whose great uncle is Joe DiMaggio, is going after the “Hotel California” hitmaker demanding payment and credit he claims he was promised.

Explosive court documents say Felder brought him on as a producer and session drummer while putting together the guitarists’ 2019 solo album “American Rock N Roll.”

DiMaggio, who has worked with David Bowie, Snoop Dogg and Mariah Carrey, claims in the papers he was paid $30,000 for his work and would forgo his producing fee in exchange for a co-producer credit.

The credit was far more valuable to DiMaggio because he would receive a percentage of the royalties, which could amount to 25% of net receipts, the lawsuit says.

Felder, who was lead guitarist for the Eagles from 1974 to 2001, told DiMaggio BMG, his album label, would not release the album with his name on it due to legal issues the drummer had at the time, according to the court papers.

The legal issues stemmed from DiMaggio being accused of embezzling nearly $1 million from a charity concert intended to raise money for children made homeless by wars.

He was sentenced to 27 months in prison in October 2020.

Felder handed the drummer $5,000 in cash, which DiMaggio did not accept. He chose not to push the issue because he thought BMG wouldn’t release the record without his name on it, the papers say.  

But In 2025 Dimaggio would find out from BMG that the decision for credit was decided by Felder not BMG, the documents allege.

Dimaggio was told “the request had been referred to BMG’s legal department” and at no point did BMG say Dimaggio shouldn’t be credited.

The two also teamed up on another album, “The Vault- 50 years of Music”, again DiMaggio was promised producer credit, according to the papers.

While Felder was on the road, DiMaggio said he did extensive work on the album, the papers say. 

But Felder backed out again saying Dimaggio had only done the drumming work on the album, and said through his attorney the drummer “did not provide services as a producer or co-producer on any of the masters,” according to the lawsuit.

DiMaggio is asking for 25% of Felder’s net receipts for both albums along with another $15,0000 per track for additional studio work. He’s also requested compensatory and punitive damages along with attorney fees.

Calls from The Post to Felder went unreturned. Felder’s legendary fallout with the Eagles is well documented and stemmed from financial disagreements. He’s currently finishing up a multi city tour through November 5th.
