An American Airlines flight got two flat tires while taxiing to the gate at O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday night.

The Boeing 737 took off from the Miami International Airport earlier that evening and made a smooth landing at the O’Hare International Airport around 10:30 p.m. local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

While it was taxiing to the gate, though, the crew reported “a flat main landing gear tire,” the FAA said.

Passengers told CBS News Chicago that they waited on the aircraft for two hours before they were deplaned and bused to the terminal.

The simple mechanical failure prompted an overwhelming response with dozens of emergency crews.

No injuries were reported.

American Airlines said that the plane in question “was taken out of service to be inspected by our maintenance team,” according to a statement obtained by the outlet.

The flight was back in Miami by Wednesday and chartering another commercial trip back to the Chicago airport, according to the FlightAware tracker.

The FAA is investigating the incident.

In January, all of the rear landing tires on an international flight suddenly blew out when it landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The landing was so rough that multiple bathroom doors and panels broke inside the plane, and some insulation fell from the ceiling.

When the stranded passengers were finally permitted to deplane two hours after landing, they noticed that the tires appeared to have melted.
