Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are lovin’ it.
The co-hosts recapped their “great” Mother’s Day on Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday, telling viewers that two of their three children were home to celebrate with them.
“They had a great idea. This is so unlike us,” Ripa prefaced her anecdote. “It hasn’t happened in years and years.”
Ripa recalled that she received a text from her youngest son Joaquin on Sunday, who was backstage on Broadway in Death of a Salesman.
“He texted me backstage and he goes—it’s the funniest text I got—he goes, ‘I thought it would be fun if we had McDonald’s for your birthday,'” she said. “And I said, ‘It’s not my birthday.’ He goes, ‘I mean Mother’s Day. You know what I mean.'”
So Ripa and Consuelos sought out dinner from the golden arches on Sunday night.
“I had a Big Mac and large fries!” she exclaimed.
Consuelos added, “It was fun, right?”
Ripa gushed, “It was so fun! I was like, ‘This is crazy!'”
Despite the fun, Consuelos expressed some uncertainty as to whether his quarter pounder truly lived up to its name.
“I have to say, the quarter pounder… I have to weigh that,” he teased. “I’m not sure it’s a quarter pound.”

While Ripa also thought her Big Mac “seemed small, too,” her and Consuelos concluded that “maybe we’re bigger now.” Nonetheless, Ripa continued to rave about her “delicious” meal, noting that she “had the best time” and that the clean-up was easy.
“Do you know what clean-up was? Trash, done!” she quipped. “It was great.”
Consuelos said Ripa still pulled out the plates “for some reason.”
“I did,” Ripa confirmed. “I put plates out on the table because I wanted to make it nice. It was Mother’s Day. And then I just put them right back!”
