The Knicks’ quest to take a 2-0 lead over the Sixers just got a big boost.
76ers star Joel Embiid has been ruled out for Game 2 Wednesday night at MSG due to ankle and hip injuries, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Embiid, 32, wasn’t able to participate in the 76ers’ morning shootaround Wednesday “after experiencing increased soreness in both his ankle and hip,” Charania reported.

The center missed the first three games of the team’s first-round series against the Celtics after having his appendix removed. Philadelphia then erased a 3-1 series deficit to advance.
The Knicks blew out the 76ers 137-98 Monday night in Game 1.
Game 3 is set for Friday night in Philadelphia.
