Hot sleepers, rejoice: Chilipad debuts its latest 2.0 coo...

It’s one thing to have fire in your veins when you’re in the boardroom. The bedroom? That’s when it may be best to chill.

More than 50% of Americans identify as hot sleepers, which has a direct correlation to poor sleep quality. Similarly, being too hot has also been shown to disrupt hormone levels, including serotonin, the feel-good chemical that keeps us feeling calm and anxiety-free.

While there isn’t an actual chill pill for this dilemma, there’s Chilipad 2.0, and it’s an innovation that has hot sleepers counting both sheep and their lucky stars. Because the science doesn’t lie, we sleep better in cooler environments.

Chilipad 2.0

An above shot of a chilipad sleep system.
Chilipad

Pros:

  • Industry-first Remote made for your nightstand (turn left to cool, right to warmer)
  • Performance cooling Cover with zip-off Slide-in/slide-out Hydrolayer offers personalized water-based cooling, making it easy to start cooling on one side and add a second side later. Perks include doubling as a mattress protector and for improved laundering experience.
  • Subscriptionless app provides extra sleep comfort control at no additional cost
  • Core electronics like the Dock and Remote are designed and assembled in the United States

Cons:

  • Initial investment

Dedicated to innovating the way people sleep, the Chilipad 1.0 (formerly the Chilipad Dock Pro) has just been fully upgraded based on customer feedback — and it’s cooler than ever. (Sorry, you know we live for puns over here.)

Like the 1.0, the 2.0. is engineered for amazing sleep and works by circulating temperature-controlled water through the mattress pad’s surface. It’s thin like the original, so it’s still virtually undetectable beneath your sheets, but now its Hydrolayer cover can be slid in or out from both sides for a more personalized experience. It’s washable and comes with a built-in mattress protector to keep the pad feeling new and pristine months after you’ve placed it on the bed.

The 2.0’s Dock has been refined to be nearly silent, and its new, user-friendly digital display has on-dock onboarding and requires fewer water refills. Best of all, you don’t need to use the app to get started with it — as we said, it’s more user-friendly.

Speaking of the app, it doesn’t require a subscription, which means you can access the pad’s smart sleep programs, warm awake and partner-side control for free. And if that wasn’t enough, the entire sleep device comes with a two-year warranty — that’s double the original model’s.

Temperature control (your way)

Everybody has different sleep needs, which is all the more reason for anyone, regardless of how they sleep, to add the 2.0 to their bed.

It’s designed to cool or heat the mattress between 55 degrees Fahrenheit and 115 degrees Fahrenheit, so whether you or your partner runs hot, cold or somewhere in between, your sleep environment can be adjusted to match everyone’s needs.

The pad is available in a variety of sizes to fit any type of mattress, including adjustable ones. You can opt for one pad or two, so neither you nor your partner needs to compromise — at least concerning the temperature.

Set up is simple, and everything can be controlled via the app, including scheduling, so whether you want to get your sheets icy or toasty before diving in, it’s possible with the press of a button.

For folks who don’t want to be attached to their phone (relatable), the included remote makes it easy to adjust temperature settings. No more tossing and turning. No more finding yourself drenched in sweat with the covers pushed to the floor. Chilipad helps you sleep the way you’ve always dreamed: relaxed and unbothered.

Backed by a host of five-star reviews (and some enthusiastic fans on our own shopping team), this latest iteration of Chilipad will take the heat off your battle to get a good night’s rest.
