Ore-Ida is tapping into the nostalgia for fun food shapes and shareable food.

The potato company is launching its first new Tater Tot shapes in nearly two decades, Dino Tater Tots and Star Tater Tots.

Made with the same crispy outside and fluffy inside that fans know and love, the new shapes are permanent additions to the Ore-Ida lineup, reimagining a classic for a new generation of potato lovers.

Dino Tater Tots will “turn mealtime into a prehistoric adventure” and bring a sense of “imagination and adventure” to your plate by “tapping into the cross-generational love of dinosaurs — from childhood nostalgia to pop culture fascination — in a format that is easy for parents and fun for kids.”

The Star Tater Tots were made as part of the America 250 campaign, and will debut with limited-edition packaging to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

“Ore-Ida invented Tater Tots — and now, we’re shaping what comes next,” Claire Lukaszewski, Senior Brand Manager of Ore-Ida, said in a statement.

“With Dino and Star Tater Tots, we’re building on more than 70 years of potato expertise to bring new energy to the category — delivering the same great taste people expect in formats that feel fun, relevant, and made for today.”

The new shapes are part of Ore-Ida’s new brand platform “Ore-Ida or Nothing,” which is meant to reinforce the brand’s position as the original tater tot brand.

Ore-Ida’s founders are credited with inventing tater tots in 1953 as a way to use the scraps of the potatoes used to produce French fries.

Dino Tater Tots and Star Tater Tots are available at major retailers nationwide in 28-oz bags and in 5lb club sizes.

Ore-Ida noted that additional shapes are already in development and are set to roll out next year.

Fans on Instagram are ecstatic about the new additions.

“As a 35-year-old man, I will be buying these immediately,” one person wrote.

“A vegetarian dream come true! How cute!” another said.

“I will be looking for these gems,” someone commented.

“Good, my kids will love a dinosaur meal of chicken and tots,” a parent laughed.
