A teenage straphanger was shot while he was riding a Queens-bound A train on Monday evening, police said.
The unidentified 15-year-old boy was shot in the torso while the train was approaching the 80th Street subway station in Ozone Park just after 6 p.m., the NYPD said.
He was rushed to the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Sources told The Post that two to three teenagers bolted from the scene when the subway reached the station.
Two people of interest were taken into custody, police said, but it’s not clear if either is linked to the fleeing teens.
An investigation is still ongoing.
The MTA said that the A train service will be “severely disrupted” as the investigation continues, with the line outright bypassing 80 Street for the time being.
Other A train services in the area are “extremely limited,” according to an MTA spokesperson.
