Caroline Kennedy teared up as she broke her silence on her daughter Tatiana Schlossberg’s December 2025 death.

During her speech at the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award ceremony Sunday, the daughter of late President John F. Kennedy gave a shout-out to Schlossberg’s in-laws, the parents of her widower, George Moran.

“This year, we even have new family members here. I am so happy to welcome Emma Shriver and Garrett and Mary Moran,” Caroline, 68, said, of George’s mom and dad.

“Most of all, we remember Tatiana, who served on the board of this library and represented everything my parents stood for in her beautiful, amazing and too short life,” she added, while appearing to get choked up.

Schlossberg passed away on Dec. 30, 2025, at the age of 35.

“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning,” the JFK Library Foundation, on behalf of Schlossberg’s extended family, announced via Instagram at the time.

“She will always be in our hearts,” they added.

The journalist’s death came one month after she publicly announced her battle with acute myeloid leukemia and said doctors told her she had one year to live.

Schlossberg — who had son Edwin, 4, and daughter Josephine, 2, with husband George — explained that doctors discovered the disease after she welcomed her second baby in May 2024.

On Jan. 5, friends and family members of the former New York Times science and climate reporter attended her private funeral at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on the Upper East Side in New York City.

Attendees included former President Joe Biden, ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, David Letterman and designer Carolina Herrera.

A source told People that Caroline, 68, is planning to do everything in her power to make her grandchildren remember their late mom.

“Caroline has to do the same thing her mother [Jacqueline “Jackie” Kennedy Onassis] did with her and [her brother] John, in raising those kids to make sure they remember their mom — and she has the playbook,” the insider told the outlet in January.
