Multi-Color 3D Printing Is Moving Beyond Niche Use: Here’...
Kaitlyn Gome · 2026-04-22 · via New York Post

3D printing is gradually shifting from a specialist tool to something more accessible for everyday use. What was once largely confined to industrial settings and hobbyist circles is now being explored by creatives, marketers, and tech-focused consumers alike. As usability improves, the focus is moving from technical capability to practical application, such as how easily ideas can be turned into physical objects. Against this backdrop, MOVA AtomForm is positioning multi-color 3D printing as a more practical, user-facing option rather than a purely technical pursuit.

Developing a 3D printer for all creatives

Founded in 2025, MOVA AtomForm is the 3D printing-focused division of the MOVA smart hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) brand environment. The division operates as part of a wider ecosystem spanning connected devices and AI-driven tools, with a focus on integrating hardware into everyday use cases. With a core team of enthusiasts and hardware experts, MOVA AtomForm draws on prior experience in product development and engineering.

“The brand was established with the vision of breaking down technical barriers in the creative process,” President Jagger stated, “enabling more diverse and efficient ways to bring ideas to life, and empowering more creators to express themselves freely.”

AtomForm’s efforts have culminated in the production of the MOVA AtomForm Palette 300, a device intended to balance ease of use with more advanced functionality. Rather than positioning itself solely for specialists, it is designed to accommodate both experienced users and those newer to 3D printing, without removing features typically expected by enthusiasts.

An emphasis on multi-color 3D printing

Perhaps most importantly, MOVA AtomForm’s solution is purpose-built for color 3D printing, anchored by its proprietary OmniElement 12-nozzle fully automatic switching system. Built on a precision rotary structure, this self-developed architecture integrates 12 independently heated and fed dedicated nozzles, replacing traditional single-nozzle switching. The system enables near-instant transitions between materials and colors, reducing cross-contamination while improving color accuracy and overall print stability.

In parallel, the platform incorporates a self-developed ReadyPrint feeding system designed to support continuous, large-scale printing with minimal interruption. The modular filament system (RFD-6) further combines feeding and drying into a single integrated unit, helping maintain material consistency and reliability throughout extended print cycles.

From an efficiency and sustainability standpoint, the system is engineered to increase material switching speed by around 50%, reduce reliance on repeated purging and cleaning, and significantly lower material waste by up to 90%, contributing to a more efficient and resource-conscious printing process.

“Guided by MOVA’s philosophy of being premium, innovative, and stylish,” Product Manager Calvin states, “MOVA Ecosystem Enterprise AtomForm focused not only on performance and efficiency, but also on the joy and aesthetics of creation, turning every project into a collaborative act between humans and intelligent technology.”

Relying on MOVA’s innovative technology

The MOVA AtomForm Palette 300 embeds intelligence directly into the print process. Equipped with 50+ sensors and four AI-powered cameras, it continuously monitors each stage, from the first layer to the final output, analyzing performance in real time to maintain consistency with minimal user intervention. This built-in oversight helps reduce errors, improve print reliability, and keep complex, multi-color jobs on track.

Supported by MOVA’s broader AI and smart hardware capabilities, the system forms part of a wider ecosystem, but its primary focus remains clear: delivering a more controlled and accessible path from digital model to physical object. With the Palette 300, MOVA extends its capabilities into the creative space while maintaining a practical, results-driven approach to 3D printing.

3D printing for mainstream creatives

Whether users are exploring small-scale creative projects or entering early-stage prototyping, the MOVA AtomForm Palette 300 is designed to support a wide range of use cases with a practical, user-focused approach. Rather than positioning advanced 3D printing as a specialist tool, the device reflects a broader shift toward making multi-color creation more accessible and reliable for everyday users.

The AtomForm Palette 300 is expected to be available for pre-order in Q2 2026.
