Exclusive | 'Dutton Ranch' will introduce a more 'dangero...
Lauren Sarne · 2026-05-16 · via New York Post

She’s back.

Beth Dutton became an iconic anti-heroine on “Yellowstone,” and now the spinoff show “Dutton Ranch” follows her to new horizons.

“Dutton Ranch” director / exec producer Christina Alexandra Voros exclusively told Page Six that the show will feature some new sides to the tough-talking cowgirl, played by Kelly Reilly.

“We’re going to see an evolution [of Beth] from the version that we were so familiar with in ‘Yellowstone’ to something that is perhaps a little bit more mature,” she said. “Perhaps a little more dangerous. It’s a natural progression.”

“Yellowstone” was wildly popular, drawing in over 16 million viewers. Starring Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Kevin Costner, it followed Costner’s character, John Dutton, a powerful Montana rancher. It aired from 2018-2024, and John didn’t survive the show.

“Dutton Ranch” picks up following Beth and her husband, Rip (Hauser) after the events of “Yellowstone,” as they’ve moved to Texas.

The show is exec produced by Sheridan, but created by Chad Feehan (who was let go three weeks before premiere), making Voros the de facto captain of the ship, behind the scenes.

Even though Sheridan is more hands off on this show, he is “excited” about moving the “Yellowstone” story forward on “Dutton Ranch” and thinks the season is a “tremendous” foundation, Voros told Page Six.

Some of the familiar characters from “Yellowstone,” such as Rip’s trusty ranch hand, Ryan (Ian Bohen) aren’t on “Dutton Ranch.”

“I don’t know [why he didn’t come back]. I wasn’t part of the discussions around who was and was not coming back,” Voros told Page Six. “I think certain actors had other things that they wanted to do, or were going to do.”

“I don’t know why” he didn’t come back, Voros said about Ian Bohen’s Ryan (pictured in “Yellowstone.”)

Beth’s brother, Kayce (Luke Grimes) has his own spinoff show, CBS’s “Marshals.”

He’s not currently on “Dutton Ranch,” but could he show up in the future?

“I would love that. I miss Luke terribly,” said Voros. She added that she does not know “what is in store, and what cross pollination may or may not happen between the shows. We all miss each other a lot.”

Sheridan has a large portfolio of shows outside of the “Yellowstone” world, including “The Madison” starring Michelle Pfeiffer, “Tulsa King” starring Sylvester Stallone, and “Landman” starring Billy Bob Thornton.

When asked what other Sheridan shows she’d want to see a crossover with, Voros said, “I would love to see Michelle Pfeiffer and Kelly Reilley having a drink in a bar somewhere.”

In the meantime, as “Dutton Ranch” goes on, Voros teased that Rip and Beth are living “in new lands, without their allies.”

She added that she knows that audiences “love vintage Rip and Beth. It was really interesting to watch both of them enter a slightly more mature era, but you also get a sense that there might still be something boiling under the surface.”

As the season goes on, she said, “you really see these two people who have fought so hard to try to finally have peace. And no matter how badly they want it, war keeps coming to their doorstep.”

“Dutton Ranch” premieres May 15 on Paramount+ and at 8 p.m. on Paramount Network.
