Matthew Perry's sisters blast actor's assistant who 'repeatedly' injected him with ketamine, 'left him in a hot tub to die'
Vanessa Sern · 2026-05-27 · via New York Post

Matthew Perry’s sisters called out the late actor’s assistant, Kenneth “Kenny” Iwamasa, for “repeatedly” injecting him with ketamine on the day he died in October 2023.

“He had injected my brother with a lethal dose of ketamine and left him in a hot tub to die,” Madeline Morrison stated in a victim impact statement submitted ahead of Iwamasa’s sentencing on Wednesday.

“It is difficult to put into words the sense of betrayal I felt when I found out what Kenny had done,” she continued, per the filings obtained by Page Six.

Iwamasa allegedly lied to the “Friends” alum’s relatives about what occurred the day he died at his Pacific Palisades, California, home.

“Everything I believed about the day he died — everything Kenny told us — was a lie,” Madeline continued. “The idea that someone my brother considered family could betray him in such an unimaginable way is something I never could have conceived.”

Madeline recalled Iwamasa being “manic and unsettled” in the days leading up to Perry’s funeral, which he spoke at.

“The person responsible for my brother’s death stood up and addressed the people who loved him most,” she wrote. “That is like a cruel joke I still struggle with. He didn’t just take my brother’s life — he tainted our final memories of saying goodbye.”

As for Perry’s sister Caitlin Morrison, she wrote that she would “never know if the lethal dose of ketamine was only lethal by accident.”

“But I know that when Kenny left the house, he was doing one of two things,” she wrote. “He was either escaping from something he knew he had done or he was willfully abandoning a vulnerable person in a dangerous situation.”

Perry’s mom, Suzanne Morrison, also penned a statement, writing that Iwamasa’s “most important job … was to be my son’s companion and guardian in his fight against addiction.”

“His number-one responsibility — ensure that Matthew remained what he wanted to be: drug free,” she wrote. “And when he had killed my son, he kept a sharp eye on me.”

Iwamasa was one of five people convicted of playing a role in Perry’s tragic death.

Two months after the “The Whole Nine Yards” star was found dead in his hot tub, his cause of death was ruled to be due to “acute effects of ketamine,” as well as drowning and other factors.

While Perry, who previously battled drug addiction, was on “ketamine infusion therapy” leading up to his passing, Iwamasa had “repeatedly” injected him with illegal doses of the drug “without medical training.”

Iwamasa, along with Dr. Mark Chavez, drug counselor Erik Fleming, “Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, were later charged in connection with Perry’s death in August 2025.

Iwamasa, Chavez and Fleming pleaded guilty to the charges, while Sangha and Plasencia entered guilty pleas.

Chavez was ordered to eight months on house arrest, while Sangha was sentenced to 15 years in prison for supplying the ketamine to Perry and running a drug trafficking business.

Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months in prison, and Fleming to two years with an additional three years of supervised release.
