Scott Pelley appeared relaxed as he grabbed tea near his Connecticut home days after his dramatic firing from CBS News touched off a civil war inside “60 Minutes.”

The veteran correspondent, 68, was photographed exclusively by The Post on Monday strolling through downtown Old Greenwich after weeks of turmoil that culminated in his ouster from the iconic newsmagazine.

Dressed casually in a light blue button-down shirt, dark slacks and sunglasses, Pelley appeared to be in good spirits as he made his way through the affluent Connecticut enclave.

The sighting comes as the fallout from Pelley’s departure continues to reverberate through CBS News.

In recent days, Pelley has publicly accused CBS News management of trying to inject “falsehoods and bias” into reporting and likened the recent purge at “60 Minutes” to the murder of family members.

“It’s like your spouse being murdered,” Pelley said in a tearful interview with the New York Times while discussing the firings of longtime colleagues.

The veteran journalist was fired after a heated confrontation with newly installed “60 Minutes” boss Nick Bilton, during which he accused CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss of “murdering” the storied newsmagazine.

Since then, the remaining “60 Minutes” correspondents — Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and Jon Wertheim — have announced they are staying with the broadcast while sharply criticizing management’s handling of the recent firings.

In the interview, Pelley grew emotional as he described the recent firings of longtime colleagues, including former executive producer Tanya Simon, correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega, senior executive producer Draggan Mihailovich, veteran producer Guy Campanile and staffer Matthew Polevoy.

“No one saw the Black Thursday massacre coming,” Pelley told the Times, referring to the network’s sweeping purge of senior staff. He compared the departures to losing members of his own family, saying the bonds forged over decades of reporting together were unusually close.

“My colleagues and I have worked together 10, 20, 30 years. We travel together. We dine together. We go into literal combat together,” Pelley said.

“So, these bonds are pretty tight.”

Pelley also insisted he had no regrets about confronting CBS News leadership, saying he felt compelled to defend both the broadcast and the people who worked there.

“I felt that somebody had to stand up not just for the broadcast but for the people,” he said.
