Anne Hathaway walked the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in New York City on Monday, wearing a hand-painted Michael Kors Collection gown for the “Costume Art”-themed event — which examines the relationship between fashion and the body.

The custom black silk and mikado ball gown — which includes visuals of a dove and a goddess of peace — was inspired by a poem, per Vogue.

“We used the poem by John Keats, ‘Ode on a Grecian Urn,’ as a starting point for this one-of-a-kind, hand-painted strapless mikado ball gown,” Kors told the outlet.

“We loved collaborating with Anne to tell a story that is as old as time: a wish for peace, beauty, and harmony,” he added.

The Oscar winner, 43, styled her hair in a tight bun and paired the look with a gold collar necklace and matching earrings.

Her “Devil Wears Prada 2” co-star Emily Blunt was also in attendance, wearing custom Ashi Studio — and a Mikimoto pearl body necklace worth half a million dollars.

The fictional “devil” Meryl Streep was not in attendance, though she covered the May issue of Vogue alongside none other than Anna Wintour herself to promote the highly anticipated sequel.

It was familiar territory for Hathaway, who was lensed inside the museum for the August 2025 cover of Vogue, in one shot posing in front of master works in a barely-there Givenchy by Sarah Burton gemstone top.

The star has been a Met Gala regular since 2009, building an eclectic resume of looks.

Last year, she leaned into the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme in a Carolina Herrera oversized white button-up and beaded black-and-white column skirt — though she drew more attention for her strikingly youthful appearance than for the outfit.
