It looks like Craig Conover hasn’t been able to find much resolution with his fellow Southern Charm cast members. As production for Season 12 forges on, show matriarch Patricia Altschul confirmed that she, Shep Rose, Austen Kroll, and her son Whitney Sudler-Smith were intentionally filming without the Sewing Down South founder.

In a video she posted to her Instagram page earlier this week, Altschul shows off her dinner guests, describing the evening as the “prelude” for the annual guys’ dinner she hosts at her eclectic Charleston estate. Both Rose and Altschul cheekily joke about it being a “smaller table,” seemingly referring to the one missing member of their clan.

With Conover noticeably absent, fans rushed to the comments section to ask about his whereabouts.

Responding to one fan who wondered, “Where’s Craig? 👀,” Altschul wrote, “We were filming for a particular reason…you’ll see why.”

Altschul did not elaborate further as that would mean giving away a spoiler for SoCharm Season 12, but TikTok user @realitywatched speculated that the intentional exclusion of Conover from filming could stem from an alleged feud between him and Sudler-Smith, who, outside of being friends with the group, is also the creator and executive producer of the show. At the time of this writing, there has been no public confirmation of a clash between the two longtime friends, and it should be noted that Altschul has posted other photos with Conover since production began last month.

DECIDER has reached out to reps for Southern Charm and Altschul for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

The idea of Conover being left out of a group event doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as he and Kroll have been feuding for years. Conover was once again in the hot seat at the Season 11 reunion, not only for his deteriorating friendship with Kroll, but for the way he harshly spoke to Salley Carson throughout the show.

While the pile-on from his castmates had him questioning whether or not he still wanted to be on the show, he seemingly confirmed his return in a TikTok video he posted with Madison LeCroy when production for Season 12 picked up in April.

As for Conover’s friendship with Kroll, Rose previously told DECIDER that he was doubtful the two men could completely heal their dynamic.

“There are some grievances, some deep-seated things that have occurred,” Rose told us in an April interview. “But I do think that there’s a lot of love there, and I keep going back to that, and I don’t know if they can recapture that, but I’m good with both of them. I talk to Austen two or three times a day, typically. I understand where everyone’s coming from, but there’s some stubbornness there that might be an impetus for real, meaningful change.”

Southern Charm is currently streaming on Peacock.
