The string of upsets on the Men’s singles side has been the talk of the Open, but among the Women, a familiar name is emerging toward the Final.

Four-time French Open winner and No. 3 seed Iga Swiatek prevailed over Magda Linette in their third-round match, winning 6-4, 6-4.

For the 39th consecutive time, she secured a victory in Paris after winning the opening set, with 37 of those wins coming in straight sets.

Swiatek’s forehand is now hitting its stride at the perfect moment, and the Polish star used it to seal her win against Linette, finishing the match with two consecutive service holds.

This win improved her overall record at Roland-Garros to 43-3, and she will next face Marta Kostyuk early Sunday morning.

Women’s singles French Open betting picks

Kostyuk recently captured two impressive victories at the Open de Rouen and the Madrid Open. She is also undefeated on clay courts this year with a 15-0 record. This will be their fourth-ever meeting, with Swiatek having won the first three matches against the Ukrainian.

Swiatek sits as a heavy -275 moneyline favorite on FanDuel, and I’m expecting the World No. 3 to take care of business.

If Swiatek advances past Kostyuk, she’ll await the winner between Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and Belinda Bencic of Switzerland. Swiatek holds a 4-3 career record against Svitolina and is 5-2 against the Swiss, Bencic.

The best player remaining on her side of the draw is 19-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva, who got the best of Swiatek last month at Stuttgart in the quarterfinals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

I’m backing Swiatek to make amends and avenge that loss if the two collide in the semis.

Swiatek’s placement in the bottom half of the bracket is also favorable, as No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who she lost to in last year’s semifinals, and No. 2 Coco Gauff were on track for a semifinal clash before Gauff was upset by Austria’s Anastasia Potapova in the fourth round.

Sabalenka has a tough fourth-round draw against No. 16 Naomi Osaka, but I’m favoring the Pole to emerge with her fifth French Open crown regardless of who she may face in the Final.
