The Issue: A violent anti-Israel protest at a Brooklyn synagogue one week after a similar Manhattan riot.

How disgusting it is to watch on TV the anti-Jewish mobs disrupting Jews from attending religious services (“Synagogue clash busts,” May 12).

What’s going to happen when the Israeli Day parade takes place? Can you imagine the uproar if the demonstrations were against Muslims?

Hey, New York: You got the skunk you wanted as mayor and now are suffering the results. I have no sympathy for you.

The behavior of the group that took to the streets in Brooklyn was a show of hate.

This group is a bunch of uncivilized people with no respect for personal safe space as written in law.

Mayor Mamdani has to put an end to this, but refuses to do so. There is no place for this behavior in our city.

Our government needs to ban wearing a face or head covering while engaging in a protest. Wearing a keffiyeh around the shoulders is normal, but not around the head, so as to become anonymous. Protesters should have the courage to show their identity — otherwise they are cowards or, I suspect, paid protesters.

Protesting is an American right, but that right does not include causing violence or hindering the rights of bystanders, as we’ve seen with the violent NYC synagogue protests.

As a Jewish person, I am disgusted with everything going on in New York City in regard to this mayor and his Jew-hating policies. Even worse is the large percentage of Jewish people who voted for him or work in his administration who are now reaping what they sow in silence.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, how about turning your police force loose on the criminals outside of synagogues who aren’t allowing members to pray?

Mamdani’s disregard for the safety of Jewish New Yorkers appears limitless. The demonstration by radical pro-Palestinians and their supporters was directly empowered by his scorn of the synagogue-hosted real-estate event.

Had the Palestinian leader­­ship that Mamdani admires accepted the Oslo Accords in full, it is likely most of the disputed territories would be governed by Palestinians.

Both those legislators and Mamdani fail to lead, and we all suffer.

The Issue: NYC spending on public schools tops $43 billion despite falling enrollment and poor test results.

New York City politicians have been saying for years they want what is best for city students, yet they continue to block what is best: private schools where students get better test scores at half the cost per student than the city is already paying (“Ed. Dept.’s big Add & subtract,” May 12).

It is a shame and will be until the leaders are booted out of office.

How many more stories do we need to read about money being pumped into the city’s public schools while the proficiency level of students plummets? Do politicians not care that kids are practically illiterate and have no chance of becoming productive citizens?

The current system is a complete betrayal of our society’s most precious asset: our children.

Every schoolteacher that I know from Buffalo sends their children to a charter school or lives in the suburbs to avoid their child having to attend a failing city school. What percentage of NYC teachers with children do the same?

They should place cameras in all city schools, so parents can monitor the teachers’ behavior.
