DSA ominously stakes its claim to NYC after primary sweep...

The Democratic Socialists of America are staking their claim over New York City after Tuesday night’s resounding “socialist sweep” by candidates backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani — and warned Democrats to not even bother challenging them.

“We have a democratic socialist mandate in New York City,” Osman Chaudhary, co-chair of the New York City DSA Electoral Working Group, boldly declared on a DSA call Wednesday night to celebrate the lefty political organization’s victories on primary night.

“Don’t even try it. We control these areas, we won by massive margins,” he also told those considering challenging the DSA politicians, according to a clip shared on social media by Stu Smith, an investigative analyst at the conservative Manhattan Institute think tank.

Chaudhary claimed the socialist mandate comes now that some 3 million New Yorkers “are now represented by socialists at multiple levels of government.”

He railed off a lengthy list of New York City neighborhoods in such positions, including the “People’s Republic of Ridgewood” and the “People’s Republic of Astoria” — both located along the so-called “commie corridor.”

DSA scored major wins in the House of Representatives and state legislative Democratic primaries on Tuesday.

Controversial DSA firebrand Darializa Avila Chevalier, 32, notched a razor-thin victory in New York’s 12th congressional district over 5-term incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat — despite never holding public office.

DSA member and one-term state assemblywoman Claire Valdez also won handedly in the 7th House District — adding two more DSA members to Congress.

Former city Comptroller Brad Lander, a former DSA member who had Mamdani’s support, defeated his opponent in a landslide victory in New York’s 10th congressional district.

The DSA will also likely be sending a wave of representatives to Albany next year after defeating several establishment Democrats — boosting the lefty group’s numbers to 14 from nine in Albany.

On last night’s call, the organization touted the primary victories of Aber Kawas (SD-12); Christian Celeste Tate (AD-54);David Orkin (AD-38); Diana Moreno (AD-36); Eon Huntley (AD-56) Illapa Sairitupac (AD-65); and Samantha Kattan (AD-37).
