NYU Langone Health has been slapped with a federal grand jury subpoena from the Justice Department, which is attempting to collect information about the extent of the hospital network’s involvement in providing transgender surgeries for minor patients since 2020.

The hospital system — one of the largest in New York City — disclosed the subpoena on Monday, Reuters reported, which came from the US Attorney’s Office in ⁠the Northern District of Texas.

The subpoena is seeking “information pertaining to patients under the age of 18 who received gender-affirming care” between 2020 and 2026, along with the names of NYU Langone staff members who performed the treatments.

“We understand that these developments may be concerning to our patients, providers, and others,” it said in a statement to the outlet. “Please know that NYU Langone takes the privacy of your protected health ‌information very ⁠seriously and we are evaluating our response to the subpoena.”

A NYU Langone spokesperson declined to comment on the subpoena when reached by The Post via email Wednesday.

NYU Langone shuttered its transgender youth program in February, citing the “current regulatory environment,” an announcement that came shortly after the Trump administration threatened to yank federal funding from the network.

“Given the recent departure of our medical director, coupled with the current regulatory environment, we made the difficult decision to discontinue our Transgender Youth Health Program,” a NYU Langone spokesman told The Post at the time.

The decision raised the ire of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who ordered NYU Langone to resume the procedures, warning it would face “further action” if it failed to make available treatments including sex-reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youths with gender dysphoria.

“NYU Langone appears to be suddenly and indefinitely cancelling transgender children’s future appointments thereby jeopardizing access to medically necessary healthcare for some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers,” the state’s top cop told the health care system in a sternly-worded letter Feb. 25.

The Department of Justice fired back the following month, warning James it would “take all necessary actions to defend” NYU Langone if she levied punitive measures against the hospital.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in a Thursday letter to James declared that the DOJ “will not sit idly by while you attempt to use your office to force harmful procedures on our most vulnerable population” — if legal action is taken against NYU Langone.

President Trump took swift action to put an end to the federal government providing support or funding, issuing an executive order days after his inauguration to curtail practices he called a “stain on our nation’s history” and a “dangerous trend.”

In February, a plastic surgeon who trained at NYU Langone Health mournfully expressed regret for remaining silent as he witnessed children as young as 13 undergoing “irreversible” gender reassignment surgeries.

“As a father to three young children and as a physician who took an oath to do no harm, I failed to speak up, and I just want to thank President Trump for having more clarity on this,” Dr. Ira Savetsky said on “Fox & Friends” at the time.

Savetsky said he had concerns but kept them to himself due to the culture inside upper-echelon medical programs like NYU Langone Health, which discouraged dissenting opinions.
