Angelina Jolie is taking over French cinema in Couture, a new French drama that opens in U.S. movie theaters this weekend.

Written and directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Alice Winocour (known for films like Mustang, Proxima, Paris Memories, and more), Couture stars Jolie as an American filmmaker who travels to France for Paris Fashion Week. Along her journey, she receives some unexpected bad news: She has breast cancer. Even though she plays an American in the film, this is a French movie, and Jolie learned French for her French-speaking scenes in the film.

Also starring Louis Garrel, Ella Rumpf and Garance Marillier, Couture first premiered in September at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was met with mixed reviews from critics. Couture is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Couture may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Couture is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Vertical in the U.S.

You will be able to purchase Couture on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Couture for free on Prime Video any time soon, because it is not a Prime original movie.
