“SNL’s” first — and only in the show’s history — nude musical guest Kacey Musgraves is about to suit up.
The outspoken and oft-groundbreaking country icon just announced she’s stepping out for her 2026 ‘Middle of Nowhere Tour’ in support of her sixth studio album with the same name that hits shelves on May 1.
While out and about, the eight-time Grammy winner will play arenas all over North America from August through October with special guests Flatland Cavalry, Midland, Carter Faith, Charles Wesley Godwin, Gabriella Rose and more joining her on select dates.
That includes not one but two (!) shows at New York City’s own Madison Square Garden. Those gigs are slated to go down:
About her upcoming record, the 37-year-old Texan told Variety “It’s real f—ed up, but also funny. There’s a lot to laugh about.”
She also shared that she collaborated with longtime rival Miranda Lambert on “Middle of Nowhere” because “we have two things in common: horses and divorces.”
Thus far, only two singles, the thrumming, naughty “Dry Spell” and contemplative title track “Middle of Nowhere” have popped up on the radio and streaming services.
Prior to this outing, the gifted singer-songwriter last trekked the U.S. and Canada on her 2024-25 ‘Deeper Well Tour’ (which also shared a name with a recently-released record).
On that run, she often brought 20-25 songs to the stage per show, according to Set List FM. Fan favorites that often made the cut included “Slow Burn,” “Butterflies,” “Rainbow,” “Golden Hour” and her career-making hit “Merry Go ‘Round.”
“Her singing quality was loud enough to fill the arena with joy, but she still kept the style of her music throughout the whole concert,” The Stargazer reported about a September 2024 show. “When she sings lower or higher in a song she [fills] the arena with sound. She kept the mood fun and peaceful and her beautiful stage design brought it all together.”

From Sept. 24-27, the annual Bourbon and Beyond Festival returns to Louisville, KY’s Kentucky Exposition Center.

Ahead of the release of “Middle of Nowhere,” Musgraves dropped a pair of singles.
Up first is “Dry Spell,” a funky ode to “[letting] people know how little [she] had going on.” Filled with cheeky lyrics about “sitting on the washing machine” and “I’m so lonely, lonely with a capital H if you know what I mean” mesh perfectly with propulsive Dire Straits-like backbeat to make desperation somehow seem cool.
More recently, the native Texan unleashed the quiet “Middle of Nowhere,” which is a head-swaying, sad singalong. Shimmering guitar licks, longing vocals, shifting tempos and lots of heart make this melancholy track a winner in our book.
