Last week, Mary Bennet discovered that although her first crush in London, Tom Hayward (Dónal Finn), was already in an relationship with her new friend Ann Baxter (Varada Sethu), that doesn’t mean her chances for love are over. Mary got to meet the very dashing William Ryder (Laurie Davidson) and he was utterly captivated by her wit and charm. The only problem? It seems that iconic mean girl Caroline Bingley (Tanya Reynolds) also has her sights set on Mr. Ryder. Is Mary Bennet in a bona fide love triangle?

The Other Bennet Sister is about Mary Bennet, the younger sister of Elizabeth Bennet from Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. While the first few episodes recount the events of Austen’s novel from Mary’s POV, the bulk of the series follows the idiosyncratic heroine to London where she meets new characters like Tom Hayward, William Ryder, and Ann Baxter.
Instead of using Mary as a punchline — or worse, an afterthought — The Other Bennet Sister allows the character to blossom into her own person. Mary makes friends, charms folks at parties, and even finds herself competing with Caroline Bingley for a suitor’s attention.
