Lawrence Taylor is out of the hospital. 

The legendary Giants linebacker has been released from a New Jersey hospital and is recovering from pancreatitis at his home, The California Post confirmed.

Taylor was discharged from the hospital late last week and is reportedly feeling better.

“Mr. Taylor was recently discharged from Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey, where he had been receiving treatment since April 20, 2026, for a stomach-related medical issue,” Mark Eiglarsh, Taylor’s lawyer, said in a statement to the California Post.

“He is deeply grateful to the entire medical staff for their exceptional care and unwavering support. Also, he is grateful to now be on the road to recovery and hopes to be back on the golf course soon. He is returning home to Florida today. Mr. Taylor would also like to sincerely thank everyone for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. Knowing that so many people were thinking of him and praying for his recovery gave him strength and helped carry him through a very challenging time.”

The 67-year-old Giants great was in the hospital for a little more than a week. 

It was first reported last month that Taylor had been hospitalized in the Garden State due to a medical emergency and the California Post exclusively reported it was due to a “stomach-related issue.” 

At the time, Eiglarsh told the California Post in a statement that Taylor was “under medical observation” and was “showing signs of improvement.”

“At this time, the condition does not appear to be life-threatening,” Eiglarsh said

Days later, it was reported by TMZ that the issue was pancreatitis. 

According to the Mayo Clinic, pancreatitis is “inflammation of the pancreas. Inflammation is the body’s natural immune response to injury or irritation. It can lead to swelling, pain, and changes in how the pancreas works.”

Prior to the health scare, Taylor appeared to be in high spirits when was spotted visiting Bill Belichick at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina, in early April. 

He even posed for a picture with the ex-NFL coach and a youth football player. 

Taylor played his entire NFL career with the Giants, donning their uniform from 1981 to 1993, won a pair of Super Bowls with the organization was the 1986 MVP. 

Taylor was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft and went on to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year three times and made 10 All-Pro Teams and Pro Bowls.
