And at this point, heading into Season 9, I don’t feel like we’re anywhere near out of ideas.”

Production on a pilot of a Rookie spinoff, the Jay Ellis-led series The Rookie: North, is already complete. The show has yet to officially be ordered to series, with Deadline reporting that the program is in contention with R.J. Decker for a spot on the ABC schedule.
