Kelly Ripa thinks Mark Consuelos could be the next 007, though Consuelos is not so sure.
On Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa reminded Consuelos that his run in Broadway’s Fallen Angels wraps on June 7, before sharing that auditions have started for the next James Bond. Variety reported last week that Amazon MGM Studios has begun auditioning actors for the iconic role, with the assistance of casting director Nina Gold.
As music played to further boost Ripa’s proposal, she urged Consuelos to “look into the camera” with a Bond-like smolder. After doing so, Consuelos shrugged off the idea.
“Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he said.
However, Live came prepared, with a seemingly AI-generated image of Consuelos in a tux and holding a gun, to give him the full picture of what he might look like in the iconic role.
Ripa laughed, “Look at you with a gun.”
Nonetheless, Consuelos offered up another way for him to be involved in the spy franchise.
“I’d love to play a Bond villain,” he said.
Ripa replied, “But look at your face. Look at this face! This face screams James Bond.”
Though the audience applauded Ripa and her efforts to convince Consuelos, he said he thinks “they’re looking elsewhere.”
Ripa insisted, “So you’re turning down the offer.”

“I’m turning it down. I don’t want to do it,” Consuelos teased. “Nah, yeah I’m not doing it. I don’t want to do that. I’ll be a Bond villain.”
After Ripa accepted Consuelos’ response, Ripa revealed her “second choice” for the role.
“Matt Bomer,” she revealed. “Matt Bomer is our American James Bond.”
Consuelos agreed with Ripa, who told Live that she’s “been saying it” for years.
“He is James Bond. Period. Look no further. I’ve solved the problem,” she quipped.
