The long-awaited Morrissey album “Make-up is a Lie” — he went six years in between records after legal troubles and many fits and starts — finally hit shelves on March 6.
Now, a proper North American tour will accompany the record’s release.
From August through November, the “Pope of Mope” is scheduled to hit arenas, music halls, theaters, performing arts centers, festivals and palaces all over the U.S.
That includes a pair of stops in New York. They’re slated to go down at:

He’ll be joined by anti-establishment luminaries like Patti Smith, Interpol, Sex Pistols, Bikini Kill and Agnostic Front at the one-day CBGB Festival.
Prior to this run, Moz canceled fall 2025 shows due to “credible assassination threats” and a a couple of his winter 2026 gigs because he suffered from an “adverse reaction” to prescription medication.
Since then, the divisive 66-year-old has played concerts all over North America and Europe, playing hits from his Smiths days like “How Soon Is Now?,” “A Rush and a Push and the Land is Ours,” “Half a Person” and “I KNow It’s Over.” He also performed popular solo cuts (think “Suedehead,” “Every Day Is Like Sunday” and “First Of The Gang To Die”) as well as a couple tracks from “Make-Up Is A Lie” at most shows, according to Set List FM.
“Some vocalists his age can leave you thinking ‘Maybe it’s time to call it a day,’ but not Steven Patrick Morrissey,” Under The Radar Mag wrote about an early March show at London’s famed O2 Arena. “He’s undoubtedly still ‘got it’ and still has plenty to offer, both as a cultural figure and as a working musician.”
Tickets officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 1 at 12 pm local time through Ticketmaster but are available now on trusted secondary market sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats.

On March 6, Morrissey released his 14th solo album “Make-up is a Lie.”
Bold, dramatic and a bit sassy, the record is pure Moz and sounds straight out of 1983 (we mean that in the best way possible).
Opening track “You’re Right, It’s Time” is a breath of brash fresh air. Stinging chords and synths accompany Morrissey’s unmistakable pristine vocals while he sings about not being “trapped by censorship.”
Yep, this is exactly what fans signed up for.
Highlights elsewhere on the 12-song record include the lilting, almost mystical “Make-up is a Lie,” moody gloom rock “Notre-Dame,” upbeat trifle “Zoom Zoom the Little Boy,” funky jam “The Night Pop Dropped” and folksy epic “Many Icebergs Ago.”
However, the highlight has to be the slowed-down, LCD Soundsystem-esque “Kerching Kerching,” which borders on disco ball transcendence. Dreamy, hazy, nostalgic, full of regrets and a steadily building beat, this is an instant classic that just might make you weep.
