While Chairman Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) has been consumed with the fight to keep a mining operation off of Broken Rock land, another threat has seemingly infiltrated his community. In this exclusive clip from this Sunday’s all-new episode of Marshals, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) visit Rainwater and Mo Brings Plenty (Mo Brings Plenty) in their office to deliver some tough news.
“So, you’re telling me my land’s a distribution hub for a drug cartel?” asks Rainwater incredulously. “Down one major stash house, thanks to our action,” replies Kittle smoothly. “Federal government wants to steal our minerals; now this cartel will take what’s left of our spirit,” says Rainwater as he moves to sit down behind his desk.
“That bust we made today…it’ll save lives,” says Dutton. “And I’m grateful for that,” begins Rainwater. “But it only takes 1 ignorant senator to argue that Broken Rock’s appetite for drugs suggests we’ve chosen to poison ourselves, undermining our fight against the mine.”
“Fentanyl spreads through our people,” argues Kittle. “They’ll be nobody left for the mine to poison.” Distressed by this new issue, Rainwater closes his eyes. Suddenly, Brings Plenty speaks up. “Fighting on two fronts? Sure way to lose both battles.”
“Then let us cover your flank,” says Dutton. “We can handle the cartel.” Rainwater opens his eyes to take in the generous offer. “If you can’t trust us to do right by Broken Rock, who can you trust?” asks Kittle.
