Five human heads wrapped in plastic were found gruesomely stashed in a freezer at a Russian medical center — with the troubling discovery reportedly tied to a body parts operation on the black-market.

The severed remains were allegedly stolen from hospital morgues before turning up tightly wrapped in polyethylene in a grim underground room at a Moscow anatomy training center on Suzdalskaya Street Friday, the US Sun reported.

Harrowing footage captured officers peeling back the plastic wrapping to shockingly uncover the heads.

Authorities said the body parts were snatched from area morgues before being used as medical training specimens to teach advanced techniques in facial surgery. 

Investigators believe they were stored at the facility for about a week prior to the raid, according to the outlet.

The grisly case has since been linked to a broader criminal probe into an alleged illegal corpse-trafficking ring based at Alexandrovskaya Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Russian authorities arrested Andrei Kavetsky, head of the hospital’s pathology department, earlier this year for allegedly supplying bodies and biomaterials to the “Anabioz” firm for about 500,000 rubles — or roughly $6,300 — per month, the outlet reported.

The company’s founder, Stanislav Maslov, was also detained.

Authorities reportedly said internal organs and bone tissue were allegedly removed and used as “experimental specimens” in fields including cosmetic, surgical and dental work — with video from the scene showing boxes used for transporting human heads.

Investigators added that many of the bodies went unaccounted for after death, according to the outlet, with some claimed by relatives allegedly swapped out to mask the removal of organs and tissue.

Several autopsies were also reportedly carried out without official documentation.

The Russian Interior Ministry has opened criminal cases over alleged abuse of office and bribery.
