JD Vance’s Israel insults: Letters to the Editor — June 2...

The Issue: Vice President JD Vance stands by the decision to exclude Israel from negotiations with Iran.

Michael Goodwin says it like it is; Vice President JD Vance’s verbal attacks on Israel should force us to consider whether Israel would be subject to the same vilification if it were not a Jewish state (“Attacks on Israel make zero sense,” June 21).

The actions of America’s outright enemies never seem to garner the same criticism.

Vance’s attacks serve as a reminder that Israel stands alone.

S.P. Hersh

Vance tore into Israeli critics of the new so-called Iran deal, claiming America is Israel’s only ally.

He has it backward: In the neighborhood where Israel is located, Israel is the only real ally of the United States.

A deal that doesn’t remove the threat of Iran on the world stage is not a deal — it’s a terrorist explosion waiting to happen.

Chaim Weinstein

Brooklyn

Is Goodwin fighting for American or Israeli causes here?

Trump was always going to do what he felt was right for the United States, not Israel.

It’s MAGA — not MIGA.

Israel gets away with a lot because of America’s backing.

For far too long, Israelis have used what the Nazis did to them as an excuse to lash out at anyone who does them harm.

But now that they have leveled Gaza, it’s time for the Middle East to get peaceful.

Other countries have dealt with atrocities and not one has been able to get away with what Israel has done for close to 100 years now.

James Schwartz

Summit, NJ

With America’s birthday approaching next month, Trump should be waving the red, white and blue in celebration — not the white flag of surrender to Iran.

Meanwhile, Vance warns Israel, mafia-style, not to dare criticize the administration that has shamelessly betrayed it.

At a time when many Democrats are antisemites, the White House appears determined to surpass their fecklessness by bowing before Tehran, humiliating America before the world.

Stephen Silver

San Francisco, Calif.

Everyone blames Israel for breaking up the peace process between the United States and Iran.

This is so wrong. Israelis have the right to defend their country.

Iran has conned every one in the world.

Its regime has to go.

With its current leaders, Iran will never keep a peace deal.

They will keep building their arsenal bigger and bigger. Trump has to get rid of the regime.

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani calling the American Israel Public Affairs Committee “monsters.”

Mayor Mamdani accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee of being monsters who “turn us against one another (“Rabbi: Zo full of hatred,” June 22).”

The real monster who turns people against Jews and Israelis — at a time when antisemitic violence has skyrocketed in New York City — has a beard and a nice smile.

Samantha Bella

Manhattan

I am sick of Mamdani accusing Israel of committing genocide.

Genocide is the total destruction of a human group.

If Israel wanted to do that, it wouldn’t have covered Gaza with leaflets for civilians to get out.

How can we allow the mayor of a city with a large Jewish population to spread these lies?

Miriam Fiber

Teraneck, NJ

The mayor never misses an opportunity to show his true antisemitic feelings.

Calling AIPAC monsters is beyond the pale.

Kudos to Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz for calling him out on his hateful rhetoric.

The Jews in New York are in a very precarious position.

The only monsters here are Mamdani and his followers.

Miami Beach, Fla.
