The Cavaliers and Raptors head back to Cleveland for Game 5 with the series carrying a little more tension than many NBA fans expected.
Toronto has done enough to make this interesting, but Cleveland still has the deeper roster and the home-court edge.
The Cavs will have to figure out something to do with the Raptors’ Collin Murray-Boyles, though.
The No. 9 overall pick in last year’s draft has been a major X-factor for Toronto in this series, and it doesn’t appear that Cleveland has an answer for him.
After averaging just 8.5 points and five rebounds per game during the regular season, Murray-Boyles is putting up 17 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in this series, playing at least 20 minutes in all four contests.
In Game 3, Murray-Boyles had perhaps his best game of the entire season, scoring a career-high 22 points on 11-of-15 shooting with eight rebounds.
He followed that up with 15 more points and 10 boards in Game 4 on Sunday night.
That kind of role bump is hard to ignore, especially with Murray-Boyles giving Toronto real frontcourt energy, second-chance scoring opportunities, and easy offense around the rim.
If the minutes are going to be there again, this number looks a little light for a player who has become one of the Raptors’ most reliable sources of production in this series.
Expect another all-around game for this emerging talent, especially with Toronto likely needing his physicality to survive Cleveland’s frontcourt pressure and keep possessions alive on the road.
