The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is in the midst of a wildly successful, wonderfully chaotic debut season — and based on Bravo’s seating chart for the show’s first-ever reunion, things are going to get even spicier for this group of Ocean State women.

The network dropped the seating chart on its socials earlier today, meaning the Season 1 reunion is currently filming with moderator and Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen at the helm.

The chart, like most, has a couple of surprises. The main one? That Liz McGraw and Alicia Carmody earned the first chairs next to Cohen.

Those familiar with the reunion seating chart lore know that the coveted (but oftentimes dreaded) first chairs are saved for those with the most to talk about (a.k.a. the most drama). For instance, Ciara Miller and Amanda Batula were placed across from each other for the Summer House Season 10 reunion, which tracks since they are currently feuding over Batula’s relationship with Miller’s ex, West Wilson.

But, why are McGraw and Carmody at odds? The two women are lifelong friends, with McGraw having known Carmody since birth. Up until this point, there hasn’t been much tension between them, other than McGraw questioning Carmody’s claim that she was homeless for a portion of her childhood. There was, of course, a moment in the midseason trailer that teased a contentious car ride, with Carmody calling McGraw out for showing her “true colors.” So, it seems that whatever happened in that car must have had a lasting impact on their relationship.

Sitting next to Carmody and McGraw in the second chairs are Rulla Nehme Pontarelli and Jo-Ellen Tiberi. Putting them near the front makes sense as Tiberi has been relentless in digging up dirt on Pontarelli’s cheating husband. However, with Pontarelli skipping most cast events and almost all face-to-face confrontation in the show, I surely would’ve thought those spots would’ve gone to more present players like Rosie DiMare and Kelsey Swanson.

The last we saw on RHORI, DiMare and Swanson—both of whom are seated an entire three chairs away from Cohen—were going at it over Swanson’s ill-timed joke about the square footage of DiMare’s house. DiMare ended up kicking Swanson out of her house, accusing her of sleeping with married men and calling her a “slam pig,” which has since become the new Bravo insult of the year. Based on what we’ve seen so far, I would’ve pegged these two for the first (or even second) chairs. Luckily for DiMare, that was hardly the case.

“I want to be in the back,” she told DECIDER in a recent interview. “Talk about me as little as possible. Just let me get my cute pictures in my dress. I have some things up my sleeve I’ll be showing. I love Andy, but I want to be as far away from Andy as humanly possible.”

Meanwhile, Ashley Iaconetti is seated all the way at the end (next to DiMare). While she may be far from Cohen, there’s no doubt he’ll hear her iconic sobs loud and clear from his end of the room.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
