A group of untamed teenagers were seen hanging out of a Waymo vehicle while recording themselves in Santa Monica last week.

At least three juvenile boys were inside the self-driving car, along with a kid that appeared to be elementary-aged sitting in the front, as the vehicle made its way near 26th Street and Olympic Boulevard June 19 at around 6 p.m.

The incident was taken by Rojia Shahsavani, who couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

“You know, one little mistake, one sudden stop, one sharp turn, one instability from their end could have…turned into something catastrophic,” Shahsavani told ABC7.

“There were three other cars that were honking and letting – you know – the kids know to get back in the car but it really wasn’t happening,” she added.

According to her, the boys dangling in the back of the autonomous vehicle looked to be around fifteen years old while a younger boy around ten appeared to be sitting in the front.

Photos taken also shows them sitting on the ledge of the open windows with one kid taking a selfie.

Shahsavani called Waymo to voice her concerns and the company told her that “they would be able to pull the car over in a better spot where traffic was not an issue,” but the car never stopped.

“To use the app and ride alone, you must be aged 18 or older – unless you’re in the Phoenix metro area,” Waymo states.

It’s not the first incident that Waymo has had to deal with.

Waymo recently recalled 3871 vehicles on June 12 after the robotaxi was failing to properly navigate through construction zones in Phoenix and San Francisco.

Residents in Westchester also expressed frustrations after Waymo vehicles repeatedly parked on their blocks and in front of their homes.
