Crazed ‘Mangionistas’: Letters to the Editor — May 21, 2026

The Issue: Three fans of Luigi Mangione who received press passes from City Hall to cover his trial.

Just when you think that the Mamdani administration can’t sink any lower, it provides three women with press credentials to sit in the courtroom for Luigi Mangione’s trial (“Luigi press club,” May 19).

These are same three who said that UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s children are better off without him. What a disgusting thing to say about a man who was gunned down in cold blood. Shame on City Hall for providing them credentials.

Howard Kohn

Flushing

Since when was it OK to support someone who is on trial for premeditated murder? These misguided young women are a sheer embarrassment to the truism of our legal system, which advocates change democratically, not destructively.

What these simpletons are saying is that it’s better to murder someone with whom you disagree than collectively pursue change through legal process that, ultimately, would be better for all.

Ron Goldman

Brooklyn

If Luigi Mangione was obese, toothless, ugly and bald, do you think the three brainless young ladies would be at the courthouse? The sad part is that they live among us.

Pat Vazquez

Wayne, NJ

I’m a long time reader of The Post and was shocked to see the “Luigi fan club” on Tuesday’s front page and again on pages 4-5. What were you thinking? You’ve given these misfits a respectable platform to spread their anarchy and become “famous.”

What kind of a society are we if we celebrate cold-blooded murderers as if they are heroes? There will always be wackos who support some kind of anti-societal behavior, but we need not give them front-page exposure. It just gives them traction and makes them seem reasonable.

Kenneth Lebeck

Plainview

What a disgusting display by those three lunatic women who said CEO Brian Thompson deserved to die and his children are better off without him.

And equally disgusting are the lunatics now residing at City Hall, issuing them press passes to “cover” the trial. I’m not expecting much from the prosecutors office, as I’m quite sure Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg shares the same sentiment as these women. What happened to the once great New York City?

Greg Cantiello

Parrish, Fla.

Thank you for bringing to light that, in their support for Luigi Mangione, these three “reporters” could show such disregard for human life.

They think murder is justified just because of someone’s job. The fact that they mentioned Brian Thompson’s children is even more reprehensible. I think their goal here is not to report on the trial, but rather to be as disruptive as possible.

The saddest part of this is that, deep down, people like Mayor Mamdani, Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders probably share the feelings of these women.

Ted Rallis

Mamaroneck

I wonder if the three vile, despicable lunatic Mangionistas would be so vocal and on the front page if the murder suspect was a 4’7” illegal immigrant from a Third World country.

Bill Lewis

Danbury, Conn.

The trio of “Mangionistas” who received their press passes from City Hall under the Mamdani administration used their press access not to report, but to spout hate and deranged evilness. But the issuance of press passes by the Mayor’s Office goes back a few years and it’s obvious the process has been corrupted.

The system of the Mayor’s Office issuing press cards is broken or needs serious overhauling. With the already widespread distrust of the press, this will only add more cynicism and distrust.

Jack Chen

Flushing

The inability to make moral distinctions, as recognized by economist Thomas Sowell, is an acquired immune deficiency syndrome of intellectuals.

But apparently, the syndrome can also be acquired by unthinking morons and those providing them press passes. One has to question the source of such moral depravity.
