It’s a tale of two Cities boroughs.
Coming into the first of their two 2026 Subway Series showdowns, the New York Mets and New York Yankees are having diametrically-opposed seasons.
At the time of publication, Aaron Judge and the Bronx Bombers are riding high near the top of the AL East (after getting swept by the Brewers, the Rays are sitting atop the division) while Juan Soto’s Amazins’ are dwelling in the NL East cellar.
Still, regardless of the teams’ very different records, there’s no NYC experience more electric — or bucket list-worthy — than catching the Big Apple’s MLB clubs going head-to-head live from the stands.
If you’d like to root on the Mets at home or visiting Yankees, the three May Subway Series games are slated to go take place at Citi Field on:
Friday, May 15
7:15 p.m.
Prices start at $99 including fees on SeatGeek for the cheapest of the three games.
The other two have seats starting at $107 and $109 including fees.
In the event you’ve never been to one of these rivalry-soaked showdowns, The Post’s Mike Vaccaro shared that what makes these Subway Series games so special are the fans.
“That is what these Subway Series games are about: Mets fans who wear their orange and blue proudly and defiantly into Yankee Stadium, knowing they’ll be surrounded, knowing the odds are good they’re in for a couple of hours of disappointment, never seeming to mind. And Yankees fans, doing their roll-call cheers, ever vigilant and ever militant in making sure the odd “Let’s go, Mets!” cheer is immediately smothered and vaporized by their “Let’s go, Yankees!” chants (more rhythmic, less poetic).”

This year’s Yankee Stadium Subway Series falls on a heavy time of year for New Yorkers.
The series opens on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 in the Bronx.
