The Boys just gave some major insight into a new character of the universe who fans will be seeing more of in Vought Rising: Bombsight.
Mason Dye made his debut to the franchise in The Boys Season 5, Episode 6, which showed Bombsight rescuing the love of his life, Golden Geisha, from Butcher and the Boys. But when Soldier Boy crashes the party in order to take the V-One, Bombsight isn’t going down without a fight.
Bombsight, whose real name is Robbie, used to be part of Soldier Boy’s team when they first worked for Vought. He was also given V-One by Vought founder Frederick Vought, making him immortal and overpowered like Soldier Boy. The full extent of Bombsight’s abilities seems unclear, but he certainly has super strength and appears to be bulletproof.
The supe’s name has been thrown around all season as he’s the only person who could possibly have a dose of V-One. In this week’s episode, it’s revealed that he’s been holding onto it all these years in hopes of convincing Golden Geisha to take it so they can be immortal together. But she is not interesting.
Soldier Boy has also been complaining about Bombsight since the start of the season, making it rather unsurprising that it comes to blows when they reunite.
It’s clear Bombsight is still harboring some jealousy about Soldier Boy’s popularity during their time working together. But the supes manage to set their hatred aside after a tense fight so Soldier Boy can help Bombsight get rid of his powers and immortality. As Bombsight complains about how highly favored Soldier Boy was, it perfectly tees up what fans can expect from Vought Rising when the series eventually premieres on Prime Video.

“You were everyone’s favorite from the start. Especially Clara,” Bombsight says in the episode. “Everything they wanted us to be, everything they were working towards they saw it in you. I fucking hated you for it.”
Now, who is this Clara who keeps being mentioned in The Boys Season 5?
Who is Clara in The Boys?
Fans might have noticed a certain supe named Clara getting mentioned quite a bit this season. This is another Vought Rising Easter Egg.
Clara is Clara Vought, or more commonly known as the superhero Stormfront who was played by Aya Cash in Season 2. Needless to say, she and Soldier Boy have a difficult history together, made all the more complicated now that Soldier Boy knows she also had a relationship with his son Homelander.
But Clara’s lore runs deep: She was also married to Frederick and is the first superhero to be successfully injected with V-One. Fans should also be well aware of Clara’s history with the Nazism and racism, which was discussed extensively in Season 2.
The episode serves as a major intro to Vought Rising, the upcoming spinoff series hailing from series creator Eric Kripke and executive producer Paul Grellong. The duo described the new series as “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.”
Vought Rising will also star Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo.
Fans now know how Bombsight and Clara’s story ended. But Vought Rising will give us a glimpse at these supes in their prime.
