Is the end near for HBO‘s Euphoria?

This week’s Euphoria ended with a dramatic cliffhanger for Rue (Zendaya) and the grisly death of one of the HBO show’s biggest characters. All season long, Rue has been caught between a brutal war of attrition between fentanyl dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly) and strip club impresario Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Not only that, but she’s been playing triple agent, working undercover for the DEA as they try to nail Laurie and Alamo for their crimes.

Euphoria Season 3 Episode 7 ended with Faye (Chloe Cherry) briefly betraying her Nazi boyfriend Wayne (Toby Wallace) to help Rue open Laurie’s safe in order to run off with the money the drug dealers stole from Alamo. However, when it’s revealed that there isn’t any money in the safe — Laurie’s goons actually stole a cache of IDs that point to the Silver Slipper being used as a sex trafficking hub — Faye flips sides again. The episode ends with Faye screaming to wake up Wayne, who will undoubtedly want to kill Rue for her scheme.
