Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo revealed he was gay after being married to his wife, Fleur Shomo, for almost 14 years.
“I am a proudly gay man,” he wrote via Instagram on May 23. “This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now.”
The musician admitted that he buried his “feelings with alcohol” before he decided to “put it down” and focus on finding the “direct path” to reconciling with his sexuality.
“Wherever it takes me I will follow and I refuse to water any part of it down, from the music, to the lyrical content, and way I portray myself,” Caleb continued.
The former Attack Attack! singer received support from his wife, who stated via Instagram that it had been “a very disorienting and hurtful time to navigate.”

In April 2026, Fleur shared that she was a background character on Season 2 of the HBO series “The Pitt.”
“I just want to say how wonderful it was to be a small piece of this groundbreaking show,” she wrote via Instagram alongside photos of herself as a patient in a hospital bed.
“I spent 4 months on set as background & I’d like to think I used almost every minute of that time watching, learning & taking in everything I absolutely could.”
Fluer praised the “incredibly rare” opportunity, expressing her hopes to return for Season 3 but as a nurse.
Fluer previously hosted the “My Top 5” podcast from 2019 to 2022.
She and her co-host, Luke, would come together nearly every week to discuss several topics, from their “top 5” favorite guests to their “top 5 essential fridge items.”
Their last episode was in April 2022, in what was supposed to be a “summer break.”
Fleur celebrated her and Caleb’s 13th wedding anniversary with a sweet Instagram tribute in December 2025.
“13 years married today,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and the musician.
“And I wouldn’t change a thing. You’re still my favourite person and make me laugh like no other. I love us. My main lemon for always. You are awesome sauce. And I love you. 🖤.”
On May 23, 2026, Caleb proudly embraced his sexuality and vowed to be “whole heartedly and fully” himself.
“I will only do what makes me happy at the deepest level and what is the most honest depiction of who I am,” he wrote in his statement.
“I believe it’s impossible to love every part of you when you won’t face every part of you head on. I am trying to finally be proud of who I am and I think this is a massive part of that journey.”
Fleur took to Instagram shortly after Caleb posted his statement to express her support alongside photos and videos of them over the year.
“I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb,” she wrote. “I have cared more about his well being over the years than anything else in the world.”
Fleur shared that she witnessed Caleb’s “confusion and pain” but didn’t know how to help him.
“You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok,” she continued. “You also ask yourself constantly if you’re a bad person for wondering wtf this means for your world & the anger you also feel.”
Fleur continued, “I am the only person that is having to deal with the duality of this situation. To support him whilst losing everything has been incredibly hard to figure out.”
She concluded by stating that she didn’t “need to question [their] history,” describing their marriage as “wonderful and full of so much fun, adventure & love.”
