Thursday’s Live with Kelly and Mark was missing half of its signature co-host couple.

Instead of Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos led this morning’s live episode alongside Jane Krakowski. While Krakowski has served as a guest co-host on Live in the past, Consuelos noted that she had not co-hosted since they moved to their downtown studio.

Krakowski teased, “It’s gorgeous, the lighting is lovely. A girl’s best friend.”

Today, Consuelos and Krakowski sat down with Michael star Jaafar Jackson and Top Chef host Kristen Kish, in addition to spotlighting some bargains in the show’s “Shopping Day at Live” segment with Monica Mangin.

Ripa’s absence this morning precedes Live‘s special “I Love Mom” show on Friday, which will feature guests Lindsay Hubbard, and Jerry O’Connell and his mother. Why was Kelly Ripa missing from Live with Kelly and Mark today?

While Consuelos addressed Ripa’s absence from the show, he did not explain why she was missing from Thursday’s episode while introducing Krakowski.

“Filling in for Kelly today is Jane Krakowski,” he simply exclaimed, before proceeding with their host chat.
