WASHINGTON— Vice President JD Vance is preparing to announce an ultimatum threatening to withhold federal reimbursement of Medicaid expenses to all 50 states if they fail to comply with anti-fraud safeguards.
Vance, chairman of President Trump’s anti-fraud task force, is expected to make the announcement at an event at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The threat, which will be communicated in a letter from Health and Human Services inspector general Thomas Bell, is paired with a new nationwide audit of state-level fraud control units for the low-income medical insurance program, the Wall Street Journal reports
The Post previously first-reported in February that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services would withhold reimbursement of $259.5 million in Medicaid funds for Minnesota for 14 programs identified as having a high risk of fraud, including autism care, at-home rehabilitation, non-emergency medical transports and night supervision.
