Sophia is played by Canadian actress Julia Doyle. In an interview with Scifivision, Doyle talked about what it is like playing two sides of one character. She said that playing both sides of Sophia keeps things interesting. She also talked about how she loves playing unsettling characters. “I love playing creepy, and I’ve been waiting to get a juicy little role like this.”

Another fact Doyle shared in the interview was that she was double-jointed. For the actual transformation scenes in the series, production set up close up shots to get different angles of her body as she also does contortion.
