Exclusive | Real estate broker has novel approach to lure...

If California doesn’t want your money, Florida will gladly take it.

So says star broker Dina Goldentayer, of Douglas Elliman, who has taken out a massive billboard in Los Angeles at the intersection of West 3rd and La Cienega Boulevard, which proclaims “Your wealth is wanted #MoveToMiami.”

“The idea was based on where the property buyers of $30 million-plus homes are coming from,” Goldentayer told Gimme Shelter.

The response, she said, has been great so far.

“My California clients think it’s brilliant. They get the humor,” Goldentayer said.

As the controversial proposed 5% tax on California billionaires’ net worth gains traction in advance of the November ballot, billionaires like Sergey Brin and Larry Page continue to purchase homes in Florida. The latest is Palantir’s Alex Karp who just bought a second property to add to his $75 million compound-in-the-making, as Gimme Shelter revealed last week.

“The messaging is about all of the ultra-luxury properties that I represent and acknowledging the moment,” Goldentayer said.

“What the California government is doing to drive out its wealthiest residents is outrageous, but it’s benefiting us,” she added. “California doesn’t want to treat its wealthy people well. This whole billionaires’ tax thinking is that the billionaires aren’t going to outsmart the municipal government, and that is just poor tactical strategy … we welcome them with open arms because Florida rewards ultra-high-net-worth individuals who are domiciling in its state.”

The billboard, which has been up since April 22, showcases one of Goldentayer’s latest listings — a $79.5 million dream house completed this year at 255 Ocean Boulevard on Golden Beach. It’s one of just 60 homes on the beach, the listing notes.

The modern 12-bedroom spread — by TREO and SDH Studio Architecture and Interior Design — sits on .65 landscaped acres. It also comes with furnishings from Minotti, which can be purchased at an additional cost.

It opens grandly with an entrance foyer boasting 23-foot-high ceilings, a sculptural travertine staircase and serene ocean views. Design details include travertine floors, white oak millwork, paneled walls, an elevator and an indoor-outdoor entertaining area.

The main bedroom suite features two dressing room and a spa-like bath with a “hand-carved soaking tub sculpted from a single block of stone,” and a nearby home office suite.

Outside, there’s 75 foot lap pool, jacuzzi and a rooftop pool and spa overlooking the beach. The grounds also include a guest house.
