Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg made it clear they did not agree with Ashley Graham on The View after the plus sized model spoke out against the growing use of weight loss drugs, otherwise known as GLP-1s.
Goldberg shared during the broadcast that Graham called the trend “a ‘smack in the face’ to the body positivity movement because it puts the focus back on being skinny rather than loving your body in her recent Marie Claire interview.
“I don’t agree, but I’ll put it to you,” Goldberg stated as she passed the discussion to her co-hosts.
Behar was the first to chime in with a quip that made the audience laugh.
“I don’t agree with that. I love my body ever since I lost 25 pounds,” Behar joked.
After Behar and Sunny Hostin shared how much these drugs can help one’s health in other ways besides causing weight loss, Sara Haines seemed to agree with some of Graham’s criticisms of popular weight loss drugs.
“It did put body image not health back in the frontlines,” she said. “I think what she’s referencing is so mnany people who didn’t need it for health reasons, you’re seeing them disappear.”

Haines added, “It’s in your face and sadly it doesn’t eliminate body noise.”
Goldberg, however, made the case for continuing the body positivity movement.
“Because it doesn’t work for everybody, body positivity is not gone. You still have toe encourage people to love themselves. This is still part of what you’re doing,” she said in an impassioned moment at the end of the segment. “Some people didn’t have that body love and they have it now, because they see a different them.”
She continued, “I think you have to celebrate the people it works for and celebrate the people it may not work for, and that’s where you’re coming in to remind people that it’s about loving you.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
