Suffolk County 911 operators scheduled to work on Father’s Day are getting a huge thank you from police commissioner Kevin Catalina, who will be treating the dispatchers to a special luncheon at their Yaphank operation center to recognize their tireless efforts, especially on holidays.

“People, I think fail to realize the stress that is involved in that profession, that job, and how professional they are,” Catalina told The Post.

“They really are lifeline, and they couldn’t be more important to us.”

The Suffolk top cop is also giving up his own family time Sunday to chow down with the civilian employees and said he “wanted to acknowledge” sacrifices they make in being the first line of rescue and critical aid in so many cases.

Suffolk Association of Municipal Employees President Terry Maccarrone doubled down and said these around the clock workers “unsung heroes” often out of sight and out of mind.

“We’ve got fathers and mothers who don’t get to be at home with their families on Father’s Day, on Mother’s Day, on Christmas, on the holidays, they’re stuck at their jobs doing the work of the people,” he said.

“I hope that they recognize that we know that they’re sacrificing to do this work…they don’t always hear it on the day where they’re making the sacrifice, so that’s the idea.”

It’s a labor of love for dad of two toddlers Frank Seeman, who will spend much of Father’s Day with a headset on at the job and will “always appreciate when people go out of the way” to show gratitude.

“I get a paycheck for it, but it really does feel like we’re doing good work,” said Seeman, who some years work has to work every holiday on the calendar.

“When people call 911 they’re not having the best day ever. Even though I could be home with the family, I always like trying to get people the help they need when they need it.”
