Shark has been steadily expanding its beauty tech portfolio over the past few years, and after testing several of the brand’s launches myself, the arrival of the Shark DePuffi felt like a natural next step.
Having already tried the Shark SilkiPro straightener, the FacialPro Go at-home facial device, the brand’s viral FlexStyle hair system and the Cryotherapy LED face mask, I’ve seen first-hand how the company is approaching beauty tools with a focus on convenience and at-home results.
For that reason, the Shark DePuffi immediately landed on my radar.
Facial puffiness is something many of us experience from time to time, whether it’s due to lack of sleep, travel, allergies or simply waking up in the morning. While facial massage tools and cooling rollers have become increasingly popular, Shark is aiming to offer a more targeted solution with the DePuffi. Naturally, that made me curious to see whether it could deliver noticeable results and justify a place in an already crowded beauty gadget market.
If you’re considering adding a de-puffing device to your skincare routine, here’s everything you need to know about my experience with the Shark DePuffi.
The Shark DePuffi is designed to help reduce the appearance of facial puffiness and support a more refreshed-looking complexion through heat and cold contrast therapy technology. It is intended for use around areas where fluid retention and swelling are most noticeable, including the under-eye area, cheeks and jawline.

The Shark DePuffi offers two therapies: InstaChill and InstaHeat. The latter boosts glow, while the cooling technology depuffs. There are six temperature levels, so you can adjust for your comfort and needs.
After charging the device, it’s recommended to move the device in outward strokes from the center of your face to the outer parts of your face to target the jawline and cheekbones. Pressure can be applied at each stopping point for 1 to 2 seconds. After you’ve done five strokes, finish off by gliding down from the pressure point down to the neck. Repeat as desired.
Moving upward will help create a more sculpted look, while downward motions toward the neck help with lymphatic drainage and circulation. The device doesn’t require serum, though you’ll have better slip if you apply some before performing a treatment.
My first impression was that the Shark DePuffi looks and feels consistent with the rest of Shark’s beauty range: sleek, modern and premium without being intimidating. While it fits in the palm of my hand, it’s quite heavy, though I will say that its unique shape makes it easier to target a large portion of the face at once.
During my initial treatments, the experience was pleasant and easy to integrate into my routine each night. While I wasn’t expecting overnight transformation, I was interested in seeing whether consistent use would create a more noticeable difference over several weeks.
The Shark DePuffi has several standout features:
One of the strongest aspects of the device is its focus on a very specific skincare concern. Rather than attempting to address every possible issue at once, the device is centered on reducing visible puffiness and promoting a fresher appearance.
The compact design is another advantage. It doesn’t take up much space and can easily be packed for travel, making it practical for maintaining treatments while away from home.
In contrast with the average $10 jade roller, the DePuffi helps with more targeted cooling, lymphatic drainage and circulation. It’s versatile with a variety of different skincare routines and products, especially those who really want to up the ante on facial “de-bloating.”
I’ve found that the Shark DePuffi fits really seamlessly into my anti-aging routine, especially when I’m layering it with serums — although you don’t need a serum at all. However, it’ll help boost the overall user experience as a serum will create more slip for the device to work with. After I apply my serum — usually something targeted with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or peptides — I use the DePuffi to enhance absorption and reduce any puffiness that builds up overnight.
It feels like it helps the products to better penetrate my skin rather than just sitting on the surface. I also like that it doesn’t interfere with the texture or performance of my serums, so I can still get the full benefit of each step. Over time, my skin looks a bit more refreshed in the morning, and the combination feels like it supports a smoother, more hydrated appearance.
Compared with other Shark beauty devices I’ve tested, the DePuffi occupies a slightly different position in the lineup thanks to its targeted approach. While my favorite Shark product remains the Cryotherapy LED face mask, largely because I find it delivers more effective under-eye cooling and leaves my skin looking refreshed, the DePuffi serves a different purpose. It’s designed specifically to tackle facial puffiness, making it a more focused addition to a skincare routine rather than an all-round treatment device.
The DePuffi is also a little heavier than some of Shark’s other beauty tools, although I never found that impacted the experience. In fact, it’s one of the most user-friendly devices I’ve tested from the brand, with an intuitive design and virtually no learning curve.
It also reminded me of the FacialPro Glow in some respects, which means your choice may come down to your skincare goals. If reducing puffiness is your main priority, the DePuffi is the obvious pick. However, if you prefer a device that offers a broader facial treatment experience, I found the FacialPro Glow more versatile, allowing me to address multiple skincare concerns with a single tool. If you’re looking to cut down on owning multiple beauty devices, it’s worth the extra $100.
Compared with competitors, I found the Shark DePuffi strikes a nice balance between ease of use and targeted treatment. While I haven’t personally tested every rival device, I’ve been testing the TheraBody Depuffing Wand and our team has tried NuFace devices, so I compared my experience with the DePuffi against those review notes.
The TheraBody Depuffing Wand remains one of the strongest options if cooling is your main priority, thanks to its dedicated temperature-focused treatment and instantly refreshing feel. NuFace devices, meanwhile, are designed to deliver broader skin-toning and contouring benefits through microcurrent technology.
The DePuffi seems to sit somewhere between the two, offering sculpting and cooling, plus heat for enhanced circulation. It’s also straightforward. For users who don’t like complicated devices or attachments, I think Shark has created one of the more accessible devices in this category.
Whether the Shark DePuffi is worth buying will depend on your skincare goals. If facial puffiness is a regular concern and you enjoy incorporating beauty devices into your routine, there is a strong case for considering it. The device is easy to use, comfortable during treatment and aligns well with Shark’s growing beauty ecosystem.
However, this is not my favorite Shark product and I had higher expectations. To me, the best value is picking up the FacialPro Glow and reaping the benefits of an at-home facial. For those resistant to devices that have a subtle tugging motion on the skin when in use, this isn’t the best product to buy.
For me, the biggest appeal is convenience. I liked being able to complete a treatment in just a few minutes without additional accessories. While it isn’t a substitute for professional treatments, it offers an accessible option for people looking to enhance their at-home skincare routine.
As with most beauty devices, realistic expectations are important. Consistency is likely to be the key factor in determining long-term results.
