There’s never a dull moment when it comes to the wild, wild world of Yellowstone.

We’re still a few weeks away from the series premiere of Paramount+’s Dutton Ranch, the hotly anticipated new series that continues the story of fan favorites Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), but the behind-the-scenes drama is already ramping up. Series creator/showrunner Chad Feehan is leaving the show ahead of the series premiere and won’t be returning if Dutton Ranch is renewed for a second season.

Feehan’s exit, per Puck (h/t Variety), is reportedly due to Taylor Sheridan, series stars Reilly and Hauser, and 101 Studios boss David Glasser being “unsatisfied” with his handling of the production.

Dutton Ranch, which also stars Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind, follows Beth and Rip as they head to Texas and “collide with a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.”
