Exes Emma Roberts and Evan Peters had a tense onstage reunion this week, years after the actress was arrested for alleged domestic violence against the actor.
The former co-stars made a rare joint appearance at the 2026 Disney Advertising Upfront showcase on Wednesday to announce Paul Anthony Kelly’s addition to Season 13 of Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story.”
For the event, Roberts, 35, wore a black strapless minidress adorned with red roses, while Peters, 39, sported a dark teal jacket atop a white tee and black trousers.
The former couple was joined onstage by fellow “AHS” alums Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Angela Bassett.
Notably, Roberts and Peters stood a few feet apart from each other on the North Javits Center stage in New York City to help promote the forthcoming season of the long-running FX horror anthology series, which will mark their first time working together since 2018.
They looked straight ahead and did not appear to talk or engage with each other.
However, a source exclusively told Page Six that there’s no lingering drama between the exes, insisting, “Emma and Evan get along great.”
The duo’s tumultuous relationship began in early 2012 when they met on the set of the comedy-drama “Adult World.”
They sparked romance rumors that July after being photographed holding hands at a wedding, and they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards.
But six months later, Roberts was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident at a hotel in Canada.
The “We’re the Millers” star was released from jail shortly after, and Peters — who reportedly sustained a bloody nose during the alleged altercation — didn’t press charges.
“It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,” the pair’s reps said in a statement at the time. “Ms. Roberts was released after questioning, and the couple are working together to move past it.”
Despite the incident, the “X-Men” star proposed to Roberts seven months later in January 2014.
The then-couple also continued working together, most notably on four seasons of “AHS,” beginning with “Coven” in 2013 and followed by “Freak Show” in 2014, “Cult” in 2017 and “Apocalypse” in 2018.
“It’s really amazing,” Peters gushed about working with Roberts during an interview with People after “Coven” wrapped filming. “You’re at set, and you’re in a city that you don’t really know that well. It’s nice to have your best friend there to go to dinner with and check out the city.”
He went on, “On set, if you’re having a bad day or whatever, you can go to somebody and talk to her, and she’s right there. You don’t have to wait until you’re done working, so it was nice.”
The two, however, abruptly called off their engagement in June 2015.
“They grew apart,” a source said after the split. “They both had a lot of growing to do, and it was better that they do it on their own.”
Still, Roberts and Peters continued dating on and off until early 2019, eventually calling it quits for good after seven years together.
The “Scream Queens” star discussed their breakup and how “no one knows the real story” about their relationship during a candid chat with Cosmopolitan in May of that year.
“I think that no matter who you are or what you do or wherever in the world you are, anything ending is hard,” she lamented at the time. “Losing something is hard.”
She continued, “Growing up is hard. Sometimes it makes me sad that I can’t have a private moment. … Because of Twitter and Instagram, there’s a whole other element where everybody can comment on what you’re doing, and no one knows the real story. That’s hard.”
Roberts went on to date actor Garrett Hedlund, with whom she shares 5-year-old son Rhodes, and is now engaged to actor Cody John.
As for Peters, the “Monster” star moved on with singer Halsey and then dated writer Natalie Engel until last year.
