Last season was the come-up.

Come September, Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos aim to prove they have staying power in the highly competitive AFC.

And now that the 2026 schedule has officially been released, we have a better idea of who Sean Payton’s squad will have to get through at their home Empower Field at Mile High to advance to the postseason for the third year in a row.

Just a few of the most notable opponents headed to Denver this year include Matthew Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams (Sept. 27), Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks (Oct. 15), Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 1), Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills on Christmas Day and Justin Herbert’s Los Angeles Chargers in the final game of the season on either Jan. 9 or 10.

And while they certainly have their work cut out for them, the team — who you may recall almost beat the Super Bowl-bound Patriots without their star quarterback Nix in the AFC Championship game — is not resting on its laurels and is staying vigilant in regards to the coming campaign.

“Tt’s not ‘let’s run it back.’ I hate that term,” Payton shared with 9 News in April. “It’s how do you improve your team…and the better you get, the harder it is to improve your team.”

In order to bolster the already-solid roster, general manager George Paton traded for star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and made sure to lock up team fixtures J.K. Dobbins, Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad, Jaleel McLaughlin and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

Now all that’s missing are Broncos Country citizens who reside in the South Stands.

Through the regular season, most AFC games will be broadcast on CBS.
