An electric new fan theory has entered the Bravosphere … and it’s not about the pasta.
In light of Amanda Batula and West Wilson‘s shock romance, eagle-eyed Summer House fans have been keeping close tabs on their every move. In searching for more clarification on the timeline of their relationship, many have been rewatching old episodes of the hit Bravo show and scouring the cast’s photo dumps on Instagram for clues.
However, one resurfaced post from Kyle Cooke‘s Instagram page has some fans taking a break from the “Scamanda” theories and instead focusing on the pasta … or, should we say, the shower.
On Feb. 19, Cooke posted a video from last summer, in which he and the other Summer House guys are rapping in a car, seemingly on their way home from the bar. When Cooke zooms in on Wilson’s face, there appears a suspicious white substance smeared across his left nostril. While it was overlooked by most at the time he posted the video, one fan did comment, “Coke nose goes crazy,” while another asked, “Ummm what is that on West’s nose when you zoom in on him?”
TikTok user @realmelzofbravo (and host of The Bravo Rundown podcast) took things one step further by alleging that, perhaps, drug use has been happening in the titular Summer House right in front of our noses faces the whole time. More specifically, in a recent episode of Summer House when Wilson asked the guys if they were planning to shower before going out. Per the content creator, when Wilson asks his roommates if they’re “showering,” it might have less to do with rinsing off before hitting the town, and more to do with the use of illicit substances.
Why “showering”? Well, as the theory goes, there’s one place that reality TV producers are not allowed to follow cast members with a camera without their explicit permission: the bathroom. So what better cover is there to partake in illicit activities than verbally announcing to the cameras that one is planning to visit the facilities for an extended period of time to pregame?
The theory, while completely unproven, has Bravoholics drawing comparisons to James Kennedy and Lala Kent‘s infamous “It’s not about the pasta!” argument in a 2018 episode of Vanderpump Rules. The explosive moment came after Kent ate Kennedy’s then-girlfriend Rachel “Raquel” Leviss‘ pasta at SUR. Many fans thought that, because of the volatile reaction to what some would deem an innocuous act, the “pasta” in question was actually code word for drugs. Leviss has since shut down those rumors, revealing that Kent actually did eat the remainder of her penne pasta when she walked away to check on her tables during her shift.
“Lala ate the rest of my pasta,” Leviss said her Rachel Goes Rogue podcast in 2024, per People. “So it became, like, a bigger thing on Season 6 of Vanderpump Rules because James was trying to make the point that ‘It’s not about the pasta, it’s about you disrespecting my girlfriend and laughing about it,’ because she’s belittled me for years.”
So, what do we think? Is Wilson using “shower” as a code word for substance use? The Summer House reunion is filming this week, and while we imagine most eyes will be on the timeline of Wilson and Batula’s relationship, perhaps Andy Cohen will carve out some time to address other conspiracy theories.
